As some of you may be aware I have been spending some of our hard earned cash on developing myself and the two businesses we run which has been very exciting but also very nerve wracking. I spoke a while ago about the riskometer and how we measure ourselves when it comes to making tough decisions ( blog Sept 16) and that I am probably around a 6 when it comes to most things. However I have noticed a drop in that scale to more of a 3-4 and I started to question it...a lot !! It's not like me to be so sensible or even practical but something was definitely going on in my head and I needed to sort it out and quickly or I was going to be in trouble.
The PR campaigns we have been running have been well received and the feedback we are getting is excellent. I am now the proud owner of a press pack, you know the sort of thing you read in a company's reception area before you go for a meeting or interview that covers all the press clippings they have done. Well that sort of thing !! and yes it has been great finally getting the word on the street about what we do and how we are different from the madding crowd. So why the nervousness on my part as surely this should all be confidence building stuff? I hear you say!
Well, we have launched a seminar programme called " Interviews with Impact" and all the details for the day can be found on http://www.thecvclinic.com/our_services/seminars_with_impact.phtml and it has been great putting the programme together and researching exactly what we needed to include to make it a success ( thanks to all of you who have contributed with great feedback on the content) for all concerned. So Riskometer rating was being tested( 3-4) as you want to make sure you have an audience and can afford a nice venue etc as there is nothing worse that speaking to an empty room!!
The one thing I did forget was to build a series of dates as my riskometer level didn't want to let me do that and my nerves about speaking to an audience also got in the way. So when the first seminar got booked up in a week I began to panic and realised that I would be challenged to face my fears and speak in front of an audience!!
With this in mind we have now selected extra dates for the seminar and I have attended a coaching weekend to help me through those first night nerves. If any of you would like to see me put through my paces then please do come along to one of the seminars as it is always nice to see a friendly face at the back of the room.

I am pleased to read that you are enjoying getting the word out about Matchsticks. Everyone at Carve Consulting is really enjoying implementing a PR for HR strategy with Matchsticks - it’s been great working with Emma on this awareness raising campaign. It’s fantastic to work with somebody so genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. It has also been particularly exciting being involved in this time of growth and development for Matchsticks.
