Many of you out there have probably been headhunted or know someone who has and for the majority it is really flattering. Being headhunted is an experience that can lift your entire working week or can do the opposite and send you back to your desk with a thud. My aim is to ensure that anyone I headhunt feels a million dollars as that is the way I felt the first time it happened to me.
The field of headhunting first became established as a sector in its own right in the US in 1926 and has continued to grow and become one of the most profitable service related businesses to date. Now you can understand why there are so many of them out there!! but how many good ones are there that you would consider using time and time again?
So what is headhunting and how do you ensure you are on that list?
Ask anyone unfamiliar with headhunting and they will probably say it's all about the old boy network/friend of a friend, etc. Instead of company directors finding a new member of staff through their own networks, they hire an agency which is assumed to have an even wider network of contacts. A lot of this is true but not in headhunting, this in my opinion is a true description of search.
Headhunting is a unique method of attracting top talent who aren't currently looking for their next move as they are so busy being super successful for their current employer that it just hasn't crossed their mind. And why should it ??
However, there are subtle ways of getting on the radar of these formidable headhunters and that is something I am keen to share with all of you.
Over the next 3 months I will be covering this topic in a lot more detail so drop me an email so that I can ensure you don't miss any of the programme.
Til next time

.. that rules me out completely then .. does it not? I am neither in the radar of the headhunters or too busy being super successful with my current employer!!!!
But I am sure there is more than hope in store for me .. Regards, Zahid
