So many people today who run their own businesses often struggle to find the time to do the simple things in life like popping to the shop to get some milk or taking a parcel to the post office or even in my case getting cat food. We work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours a week for someone else so we barely make time to eat and when we do the fridge is bare so we have another coffee and get back to the desk.
We are so passionate about delivering a great service to others that we forget to deliver a great service to ourselves and as consequence the spiral starts and here endeth the lecture !!
I used to live by that statement and now I am glad to say I have a new raison d'etre and it goes something like this.
I work 36 hours a week with passion, energy and pride in a business that creates a greater and a more beneficial life for myself and my clients. My headhunting and coaching business allows me to be available to more good than I have ever experienced, realised or imagined before. I look for and identify ways to be of service to my clients for the highest good of all concerned. Matchsticks is a financial asset to any company that it engages with in either a talent management capacity or a coaching capacity.
So where did all this come from? Well ,during one of my hectic weeks I decided to open some of the emails that have been sitting in my "nice to read when I have some time" in-box and I did just that, I found the time.. I discovered The Secret !! I am not going to spend hours convincing you to find The Secret when I have someone who has already done that, so without much ado I give you all Oprah !!
So, how do YOU get there? Here's a hint. Go and watch a movie called The
Secret. It's on www.thesecret.tv and you can view it online for about $5.
This particular movie is making history because it's sold 1.5m copies of the DVD simply through viral marketing world wide. It was all over Oprah
Winfrey's show a couple of weeks back (you can see the programmes about it
for free on
http://whatanicewebsite.com/oprah.wmv
and
http://whatanicewebsite.com/Oprah-Feb16.wmv)
and now, of course, as is the way of the world, there's all sorts of controversy about it.
I would love to hear your thoughts on it so please click on the comments section of my blog and drop me a line.
Have a great week
Emma
